A NEW BABY!!!

Well we went to Brigham for dinner today and to our delight was a brand spankin new Yorkie in our life!! Her name is Lexie...she is so small (2lbs.) I was afraid I was going to crush her. Now Lils has a sister to play with...at this moment Lily hates her with a passion (she has been an only child for about a year, I know how she feels ha ha), but in due time they will be best friends, we hope:)

My cute husband has a huge love for Lils and looks like he is pretty attached to Lexie as well. Lily is pretty small(well she actually is really fat at this moment), but she looks HUGE compared to Lexie.

All the tasks...

So this last week has been full of tasks. We are starting our yard (which Brandon is doing by himself) I never dreamed it would be such a LONG process. I am thankful that Brandon worked in Landscaping for years...he is going to make our yard look amazing. We are putting a flagstone patio/fire pit thing in the backyard. I thought it would be so fun to help out, I lasted about 10 min, it is not even half way close to being done...man oh man the projects:)

We had a great Easter weekend. We went skiing on Friday up at Deer Valley and went and watched one of my friends at a Blaze game, she is a dancer and by far the cutest one, we are also going to start an adventure together and coach Drill Team at Juan Diego High School!! For Easter we had dinner with my family and went to the Zoo which has been a family tradition FOREVER. We are so lucky and thankful for our families...they are the best!!

...growing up...

This week has been full of realizing it is time to grow up!! I was given my internship/job placement for the next year and three months of my life on Tuesday. I was so happy where I am going. I am going to be working for the state of Utah in the Division of Child and Family services. I will be working with a Permanency Team, not really sure what I will be doing though:) I will find out next week when I meet with my supervisor...I am very nervous and really excited!! I have been reflecting the past five years at the University of Utah and I have been so lucky. Being a member of Crimson Line gave me the opportunity to do so many things; I was able to attend football away games in California, Texas, and my most favorite trip Memphis Tennessee. I was able to be a part of a successful basketball year and win the Mountain West Conference. I loved Crimson Line and just being a part of the U of U legacy, I am a true UTE!! Now it is time to almost put a close to my college days and move on to a bigger and I hope better adventure. My mom called me today and informed that she has ordered my college graduation announcements, I can't believe that I am here. As you can tell, I am having mixed emotions and for those of you that know me well...me and change do not go hand in hand. But I am growing up and realizing that I am in an exciting phase of life and I am ready for the ride!!

Viva Las Vegas...

We were SPOILED by Brandon's work this week. We were able to stay in a hotel that I just love but will never EVER be able to afford, so thank goodness for business trips!! Brandon had to go to a construction expo and I was able to join him. We stayed at Caesar's Palace, it was awesome! The night we got there we were able to go to a event which was centered around NASCAR, Brandon lives for NASCAR. It was really fun in there. The next day Brandon went to the expo and I played at the pool and studied for a test. That night we went to to dinner at Ruth's Chris which I LOVE more than anything. Brandon was given tickets to Foreigner that night which is a band that my mother listened to, but they were incredible!! For those of you that need a reminder who they are (I needed one) they sing: Your as cold as ice...We woke up early Thursday morning and headed back to stormy Utah, it was really so much fun, I love going on adventures!!
I love the moments in life where you feel like you are in a movie (sounds silly, I know) and I got to experience it in the SLC airport. We left on Tuesday, it was 1:00 our flight was at 1:50 everything was great we were so excited just as the shuttle dropped us off at the terminal my wonderful husband realized he forgot his laptop at home which had every ticket we needed to get into events in Vegas (lovely) well he left me at the terminal and ran about a mile to the car. We live by the airport so it was possible for this all to work out...well I am sitting in the terminal waiting for what felt like days. I went and talked to the flight person and she told me they hand out stand by tickets at 1:40, well at this time it was 1:25. I called Brandon and he was on his way back...it is now 1:33 and Brandon comes in EXHAUSTED from his work out, we run check in our luggage (which had a huge LATE check in and was probably not going to make the flight) get our boarding pass and the lady says "It is the farthest gate, about a 8 min walk (we still had to go through security) officially the race was on. We booked it through the airport, through security, up the escalators, all the way to the farthest gate in the airport. We got to the gate boarded, right when we sat down the flight left...it was crazy and I never want to do that again. On top of it we flew Southwest so I sat in the middle of two men, one who was overlapping the seat and the other had his legs so spread out...The awesome thing, our luggage made it as well, Vegas was already lucky:)

Spring Fever

I have been really enjoying the weather lately. I just want to be outside all of the time...I can't until we get to put our yard in!! Brandon and I were able to take our first bike ride of the season last week...it really was not too cold, I miss bike rides.

It was a year ago this month that we decided to build a house. I just cannot get over how time is flying right now. Our house is coming along slowly I just change my mind all the time...oh well.
